David DeSanti is a Senior Consultant at Alignment Strategies. He is presently working with an integrated electric utility in the Pacific Northwest synthesizing a custom diversity, engagement and inclusion initiative focused on workforce development and business results.

During his 33 years at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, David gained broad operating and leadership experience, rising from a graduate engineer first-line supervisor to Vice President of its largest operating division. As an operating officer of the company, his focus on culture transformation resulted in the successful development of a safety leadership program and operational reset initiative across the company to address high-hazard injuries. While General Manager of Central Energy Services, David and his team successfully reorganized the retail division from individual districts to team-served large districts. This restructuring significantly improved customer satisfaction and process efficiency while successfully navigating multiple challenges from the bargaining unit.

David’s principal focus in human resource management included the negotiation and resolution of ongoing issues with union leadership to increase workforce flexibility, employee involvement, accountability, performance and the more traditional contract interpretation and grievance processes. His training and development experience included assignments as an instructor and subsequently as the manager of Electric Systems Training, focusing primarily on simulation training techniques and continuous improvement.

David holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers UniversityS
